Mail Sport’s It’s All Kicking Off! podcast has just received a major nod for its impressive debut season.

The British Podcast Awards has included it in the running for sports podcast of the year, alongside other strong contenders like Jimmy Anderson’s Tailenders and Gary Lineker’s The Rest Is Football

Launched last summer, It’s All Kicking Off! quickly made a name for itself with daily episodes throughout the Euros.

Hosted by Football Editor Ian Ladyman and Premier League star Chris Sutton, the podcast managed to catch the attention of both critics and fans alike.

Jamie East, Mail’s Head of Podcasts, shared his excitement about the nomination: “I’m thrilled that our team’s hard work is being recognized by the BPA.

Chris and I started this project just a year ago, and to be recognized so soon is a testament to our producer Henry Williams, our head of podcast Jamie East, and everyone at Mail Sport.

Although, I do have to wonder if I’ll be stuck sitting next to Chris at the awards night. Isn’t that part of the job already?”
