American singer-songwriter Madonna could potentially make a profit of $7 million (R110 million) on her Los Angeles mansion which just hit the market. The Vogue hitmaker purchased the nine-bedroom home from Canadian muso The Weeknd in 2020 for a reported $19.3 million (R303 million). The Weeknd built the home in 2017.

Madonna’s LA mansion has nine and a half bathrooms, a basketball court, an infinity pool and a spectacular garden.

The home also includes a wine room with customised lighting, a large kitchen, home office, media room, home gym and staff quarters.

The master bedroom has its own wing and a private balcony that overlooks the entire garden. Another stunning feature is the five-car garage which can also turn into a nightclub.

WHAT IS ‘SPECIAL’ ABOUT MADONNA’S MANSION?

According to TMZ, the 63-year-old pop star listed the LA mansion on the market for just under $26 million (R409 million).

The home is situated in Hidden Hills, where several of Hollywood’s A-listers all live including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Canadian musos, Drake and Justin Bieber.

According to the area’s website, what makes the Hidden Hills “special” is “the absence of sidewalks and streetlights” and the “presence of horses, llamas, ostriches and the occasional cow”.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, planning for Madonna’s biopic is underway and the casting process is fierce. The publication reports that the actress chosen to portray Madonna in the film must be able to dance and sing.

The award-winning entertainer said she will play a big role in the production of the biopic.

“The reason I’m doing it is because a bunch of people have tried to write movies about me, but they’re always men,” said Madonna on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
