In a world filled with filters, face-tune, and carefully staged social media posts, Lorraine Kelly just did something refreshingly honest — and people are loving her for it.
The 65-year-old daytime TV icon proudly showed off her unedited bikini photo on air, reminding fans that having a belly is perfectly normal.
‘I’ve Got a Belly, Who Hasn’t?’
During Thursday’s episode of her ITV show, Lorraine shared a candid snapshot from her recent holiday.
Dressed in a simple white bikini, she told viewers with a smile, “That’s more kind of normal — I’ve got a belly, who hasn’t?”
The image was part of a segment discussing how photo filters and editing tools can completely alter reality on social media.
She wasn’t alone in the studio — Emily Clarkson, daughter of Jeremy Clarkson and a strong advocate for body positivity, joined the conversation.
Filtered vs. Real: A Side-by-Side Reality Check
To make the point clear, Lorraine’s unedited holiday snap was placed side-by-side with a digitally altered version.
In the edited photo, her arms, bust, and waist had all been slimmed down — so much so that even she was caught off guard.
“I looked at it and actually laughed,” she admitted. “Crikey! It just shows you what you can do now.”
But Lorraine wasn’t there to slam filters — she made it clear that context matters.
Still, the moment highlighted how easily we forget what real bodies actually look like.
Throwback to ‘The Bikini Promise’
Lorraine also took a moment to look back on a memorable TV moment from nine years ago — when she stripped off for “The Bikini Promise.”
It was a five-week health and confidence segment on her show, encouraging viewers of all ages and sizes to feel good in their bikinis.
Laughing at her tan from the time, Lorraine joked, “I did lather on the fake tan, and as you can see, I was the colour of a satsuma!”
Big Changes Behind the Scenes at ITV
Despite her on-screen positivity, things have been shifting behind the scenes at ITV.
Lorraine’s show has recently been cut from a full hour to just 30 minutes, and will now only run seasonally.
The move comes after Lorraine reportedly turned down a proposal to merge her show with the final half hour of Good Morning Britain, a structure ITV briefly tested during the pandemic.
She was invited into a meeting about the idea before the network’s recent cost-cutting announcements — and according to insiders, she didn’t hold back.
Sources say Lorraine found the suggestion “insulting” and made it clear that she wasn’t interested in being squeezed into someone else’s format.
Planning Her Exit?
Lorraine has been hosting her own show for 14 years, and while she agreed to stick around through 2026, there’s a strong chance she may step away sooner.
A new ITV role titled “Head of Lorraine” was quietly created to oversee changes to the programme — but interestingly, it’s only a 12-month contract.
That’s led many to believe Lorraine is preparing to bow out next year, wrapping up what’s been a hugely successful run on morning television.
