It’s been a wild few weeks in Washington since the now-infamous “Signalgate” incident, and the aftermath is still unfolding.

The latest twist? Laura Loomer—conservative firebrand, Trump loyalist, and self-described political crusader—is at the center of new speculation that she may have influenced a wave of firings inside the U.S. government.

And while the former president has downplayed her involvement, Loomer isn’t exactly shying away from the spotlight.

A Meeting, a List, and a Flurry of Firings

It all kicked off when Loomer met with Donald Trump at the White House last Wednesday.

Reports say she came armed with a list of national security officials she claimed were untrustworthy.

The next day, several high-level staffers at the Pentagon and the White House’s National Security Council were suddenly out of a job.

Naturally, the timing raised eyebrows. Was this just a coincidence, or was Loomer pulling the strings behind the scenes?

Conservative Circles Applaud Loomer’s Alleged Influence

Fueling the fire, a popular right-wing social media account called “Diligent Denizen” took to X (formerly Twitter), boldly declaring that Loomer had been instrumental in the firings.

“Citizen journalists can make a difference,” the post read, congratulating Loomer and praising Trump for “responding accordingly.”

Within hours, Loomer responded with a victory-lap-style post, thanking supporters and writing, “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! The truth always comes to light!” Her tone suggested she was more than happy to embrace the theory that she played a role in the decision-making.

Trump Denies Her Role but Praises Her Passion

Despite the buzz online, Trump took a more measured tone. Speaking to reporters while en route to Miami, he denied that Loomer directly influenced the firings.

“No,” he said bluntly when asked if she was behind the decisions.

That said, Trump didn’t shy away from praising her. He called her “a great patriot” and “a strong person,” adding that she’s been involved in the party for a long time and has done “a good job.”

According to Trump, Loomer merely offered hiring suggestions—not names for the chopping block.

Who Got the Boot?

Among those fired were Thomas Boodry, senior director of legislative affairs for the National Security Council, and David Feith, who oversaw technology and national security.

Also let go were Maggie Dougherty, who worked with international organizations, and high-ranking NSA officials Gen. Timothy Haugh and his deputy, Wendy Noble.

Notably, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz—whose team was reportedly involved in the original Signalgate blunder—kept his job, even though he’s taken heat from both sides of the aisle.

The scandal, which stemmed from the accidental inclusion of a journalist in a private government chat, continues to haunt his office.

Loomer Stays Tight-Lipped but Hints at Her Influence

Pressed by DailyMail.com after her meeting, Loomer declined to share specific details, citing respect for the Oval Office and President Trump.

Still, she emphasized her commitment to national security and hinted that her “research findings” were well-received.

“I will continue reiterating the importance of strong vetting,” she said, insisting her aim is to protect both the president and the country.

Loomer’s Controversial Track Record

Loomer isn’t exactly new to controversy. She’s made headlines for celebrating migrant deaths, pushing conspiracy theories about Kamala Harris’s identity, and attempting to start a fake pro-ISIS student group as part of a stunt.

She’s also falsely claimed that the tragic 2018 Parkland school shooting was staged.

Despite all of this—or maybe because of it—Trump has kept her close.

In 2023, reports surfaced that he considered offering her a role in his campaign, though advisors reportedly pushed back.

Loomer later made it clear that she still has her sights set on a White House role.

Eyes on the Press Secretary Seat

Back in 2023, Loomer openly declared her ambition to become Trump’s Press Secretary.

“They will meet their match in me,” she wrote on social media, referring to his critics.

Though that plan hasn’t materialized (yet), her recent presence in the West Wing shows she’s not going anywhere.

So, Did She Or Didn’t She?

That’s still up for debate. Trump says she didn’t make the call—but she seems perfectly content letting the public believe otherwise.

Whether it’s calculated strategy or genuine influence, one thing is clear: Laura Loomer knows how to keep herself in the conversation.
