Lagos Lawmaker Commissions 120 Open Stalls At Epe

Mr. Wale Raji delivering his keynote address at the commissioning.Mr. Wale Raji, Honourable member representing Epe Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, has built and commissioned 120 open stalls for allocation to the traders at Itokin market in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Lawmaker stated the project is part of efforts to ensure that residents of the district benefit from the dividends of democracy, stressing that his priority as their representative is to improve their socio-economic development.
In his words: “I want to thank everyone who has cooperated with us so far to achieve what we have here today. Of course, the reason why we are elected is to impact positively on the lives of people at the grassroots and to set a new standard by ensuring that no one is left behind. We are committed and we will not relent in doing our best to make life easier for the people of Epe. You spoke and we listened and today these 120 stalls will be allocated to Itokin market men and women free of charge”.
He stated that the primary idea behind the project was to construct befitting and affordable stalls for the traders, adding that the initiative will also be extended to other markets in Epe like Ayetoro, Ilara, Ajebo, Ejirin, Ayandolu and other places.
Raji listed the numerous projects that have been completed and others that are still ongoing such as the construction of 42 six-block of classrooms with furniture at various schools in Epe, 120-bed boys hostel at Epe Grammar School, which will be commissioned soon, 20-bed Primary Healthcare Centre at Iraye and Staff Quarters at Orugbo among others.
He further revealed that arrangements have been concluded to register 30 Cooperative Societies for market women and grants worth up to N60 million will be given to these cooperatives.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Abiodun Tobun, Honourable member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency I, showered encomium on Raji for a job well done, emphasising that he has impressed the people of Epe Federal Constituency with outstanding and laudable achievements. Tobun disclosed that Ayetoro Market will be constructed and developed to international standards, in collaboration with the local government, to make it befitting for use.
He also commended the Market men and women for their support, urging them to continuously pay their dues and maintain a cleaner, healthy market environment. On her part, Mrs. Tawa Adeaga, the Iyaoloja-General of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, appreciated the efforts of the Lawmaker for being a good listener and for putting the interest of the people first.
She promised to ensure that the market environment is kept clean and safe for a free flow of business activities.
