He explained that the name was given to him by his father and that not many people are aware of its origin.
Meaning of ‘Onwubuasi’:
Obi, also known as “Okwute” (meaning Rock) among his supporters, revealed that the Igbo name ‘Onwubuasi’ translates to “Death is a Lie” or “You cannot Die.”
This insight into the meaning behind his tribal name sheds light on its significance to him.
Obi’s Electoral Challenge:
Currently, Obi and the Labour Party are contesting the victory of President-elect Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.
Their case is pending at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, with the hearing scheduled to resume in a few days.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Obi expressed hope that the Nigerian judiciary would demonstrate its independence and integrity through the resolution of election-related cases.
