According to Kim, the reason was far less dramatic than the internet made it out to be — and it all came down to timing.

The now-infamous images were snapped at Kris Jenner’s lavish 70th birthday celebration back in November.
The James Bond–themed bash in Beverly Hills was packed with A-listers, champagne, and dancing, and among the guests were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
One particularly buzzy photo showed Prince Harry confidently making his way across the dance floor toward Kris Jenner, while Meghan was seen chatting and laughing nearby.
Kim and Kris shared the moments proudly with their millions of followers — and then, just hours later, the posts disappeared without explanation.

Appearing on sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast Khloe In Wonder Land, Kim finally explained what happened behind the scenes.
She said the Sussexes were initially fine with the photos being posted, but later realized the timing wasn’t ideal.
“I think they realized it was Remembrance Day,” Kim explained, noting that the following day carries deep significance, especially for Prince Harry.
The concern wasn’t about attending events altogether, but about how certain moments might be perceived.
“They didn’t want to be seen partying and dancing on the dance floor,” Kim said, adding that the decision to remove the images was simply about being respectful.

Interestingly, Harry and Meghan were also photographed attending the Baby2Baby charity gala that same evening — and those images stayed up.
Kim clarified that there was a clear difference in tone.
“That was fine,” she said, “but maybe not partying and dancing.”
In other words, charity appearances felt appropriate, while dance-floor snapshots might have sent the wrong message on the eve of a day honoring fallen service members.

Remembrance Day, observed each November, honors members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service.
