Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Deleted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Photos from Instagram During Kris Jenner’s Beverly Hills Birthday Party

After weeks of speculation and whispered theories online, Kim Kardashian has finally addressed the question everyone seemed oddly invested in: why photos of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle suddenly vanished from Instagram.

According to Kim, the reason was far less dramatic than the internet made it out to be — and it all came down to timing.

How a Birthday Party Sparked an Unexpected Social Media Storm

The now-infamous images were snapped at Kris Jenner’s lavish 70th birthday celebration back in November.

The James Bond–themed bash in Beverly Hills was packed with A-listers, champagne, and dancing, and among the guests were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

One particularly buzzy photo showed Prince Harry confidently making his way across the dance floor toward Kris Jenner, while Meghan was seen chatting and laughing nearby.

Kim and Kris shared the moments proudly with their millions of followers — and then, just hours later, the posts disappeared without explanation.

The Real Reason the Photos Were Taken Down

Appearing on sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast Khloe In Wonder Land, Kim finally explained what happened behind the scenes.

She said the Sussexes were initially fine with the photos being posted, but later realized the timing wasn’t ideal.

“I think they realized it was Remembrance Day,” Kim explained, noting that the following day carries deep significance, especially for Prince Harry.

The concern wasn’t about attending events altogether, but about how certain moments might be perceived.

“They didn’t want to be seen partying and dancing on the dance floor,” Kim said, adding that the decision to remove the images was simply about being respectful.

Why the Baby2Baby Gala Didn’t Raise the Same Concerns

Interestingly, Harry and Meghan were also photographed attending the Baby2Baby charity gala that same evening — and those images stayed up.

Kim clarified that there was a clear difference in tone.

“That was fine,” she said, “but maybe not partying and dancing.”

In other words, charity appearances felt appropriate, while dance-floor snapshots might have sent the wrong message on the eve of a day honoring fallen service members.

The Meaning Behind Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day, observed each November, honors members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service.

Prince Harry, a former Army officer, has long been closely associated with the occasion.

In fact, he was photographed wearing a poppy badge — a traditional symbol of remembrance — as he arrived at the party, which took place at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s mansion.

the celebration also happened just hours before royals gathered at London’s Cenotaph for the annual memorial service.

Kim Shrugs Off the Backlash — Mostly

While the explanation seems straightforward, the backlash that followed was anything but. Kim admitted the situation quickly spiraled into something much bigger than anyone expected.

“You’ve got to laugh at situations sometimes,” she said, explaining that she even floated the idea of leaning into the chaos with humor.

At one point, she joked about turning the whole thing into a tongue-in-cheek Skims campaign — posting a photo, deleting it shortly after, and pretending it was all part of the plan.

Still, beneath the jokes, there was real disappointment.

“I hated how that was received for everyone,” Kim admitted.

“It was made into something so crazy and ridiculous that just didn’t have to be.”

A Friendship That’s Been Misunderstood

Kim was quick to emphasize that there was no drama or fallout between the families.

She described Meghan and Kris Jenner as having a warm, long-standing friendship, calling their relationship “really sweet.”

According to Kim, the entire situation was innocent — just a case of people reading far too much into a few Instagram posts.

Inside the Deleted Photos Everyone Obsessed Over

Among the images that were quietly removed was a smiling shot of Kim and Meghan posing together, with Harry chatting in the background.

Another showed Meghan resting her hand on Kris Jenner’s shoulder, while Harry pulled a playful face behind them.

The party itself was packed with celebrity moments.

Kris also posed with Beyoncé and shared behind-the-scenes snaps of herself dancing with Justin Bieber, who even gave her a respectful bow on the dance floor.

A Podcast That Didn’t Stay Serious for Long

Despite touching on a royal-adjacent controversy, the podcast episode remained lighthearted overall.

Kim and Khloe drifted into stories about family dinners, Malibu hangouts, and recent low-key nights out.

Khloe teased younger sister Kylie Jenner for staying out late during an intimate dinner, with Kim chiming in that Kylie and her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet “had the best time,” even if everyone else was exhausted afterward.

Supermarkets, Games, and Everyday Confessions

The sisters also played a casual round of “When was the last time,” during which Kim admitted — without shame — that it had been years since she last stepped into a supermarket.

The moment perfectly captured the playful, self-aware tone of the episode.

The Taylor Swift Question Everyone Was Waiting For

In the first part of the interview, Kim also addressed another long-running pop culture storyline: her relationship with Taylor Swift.

Their feud dates back to 2016 and reignited in 2023 after Swift, named TIME’s Person of the Year, accused Kim of “taking her down psychologically.”

Khloe didn’t shy away from the awkwardness, asking whether people would be surprised to learn Kim listens to Taylor Swift.

“I think I’ve said it,” Kim replied calmly, before admitting she has some of Swift’s older songs in her playlist and calling her a “super talented” artist.

Country Music, Shania Twain, and Moving On

With that, the Swift topic was quickly shelved.

The conversation pivoted to music tastes, where Kim lit up while talking about her love for country music.

“I’ll always be a Shania Twain girl,” she said, also naming Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes as favorites.

And just like that, the episode wrapped up — royal rumors addressed, old feuds softened, and Instagram drama officially explained.
