Katsina State Police Confirm Bandit Attack; Notorious Abuja Kidnapper Arrested

Attack on Saki Jiki Village:

In a disturbing incident, bandits reportedly clad in hijab attire launched an attack on Saki Jiki village in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The assailants inflicted harm, killing one officer and injuring another during the assault.

Confirmation by Police Spokesman:

The State Police Command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, officially confirmed the incident to the media on January 19, 2024.

Aliyu revealed that the attack transpired at 8 pm on January 18, emphasizing that law enforcement was actively addressing the situation at the duty post.

Details of the Attack:

Abubakar Aliyu provided insights into the harrowing incident, stating, “Yesterday (Thursday) at about 8 pm, some suspected armed bandits, deceitfully dressed in hijab, attacked officers at their duty post situated in Saki Jiki village of Batsari Local Government Area.”

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) went on to explain that the officers, displaying bravery, successfully repelled the attack.

Unfortunately, one officer lost his life, and another sustained injuries during the confrontation. Aliyu assured that further developments would be communicated in due course.

Arrest of Notorious Abuja Kidnapper:

Simultaneously, the Kaduna State Police Command apprehended a notorious kidnapper linked to recent criminal activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Identified as Chinaza Phillip, the suspect was captured on January 18, 2024. The FCT Command Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed the arrest, stating that the suspect was handed over to the FCT Police Command on January 19, 2024, and is presently in police custody.

Statement from FCT Command:

In an official statement, SP Josephine Adeh affirmed, “The FCT Police Command wishes to confirm the arrest of one Chinaza Phillip, a notorious Abuja kidnapper by police operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command on Thursday 18th January 2024.”

The statement further indicated that the suspect’s transfer to the FCT Police Command occurred on January 19, 2024.

Additional details surrounding the arrest and the suspect’s alleged involvement in kidnappings and killings in the FCT will be communicated in the near future.
