Ever since Katlego Maboe’s return to social media, his fans have welcomed him with open arms. His long hiatus came in 2020 after allegations of infidelity and abuse were leveled against him by his former partner, Monique Muller.
This led to the award-winning presenter’s suspension from SABC 3’s Expresso Morning Show, and his contract with OUTsurance terminated.
In January 2022, however, he released a statement announcing that the court had ruled in his favour against the allegations of domestic abuse. This victory meant that he could finally get his life back on track and his fans were happy for him. But, some are still interested in hearing his side of the story…

IS MACG’S ‘PODCAST AND CHILL’ THE RIGHT PLATFORM?
On Wednesday 9 March, the presenter posted a new profile picture — looking suave as always — and Twitter was loving it. This also prompted some of his fans to urge him to get interviewed by MacG and Sol Phenduka on Podcast and Chill.
The podcast, which is reportedly the “best in Africa” and has more than 500 000 subscribers, has set tongues wagging on many occasions.
MacG’s interviewing style has come under fire a number of times in the past. However, others have applauded the former 947 presenter for always making his guests comfortable. So much so that they end up revealing sensitive or controversial information and views.
Some of these guests included hip-hop artist and former Uyajola 9/9 presenter Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye who had to later apologise to the mother of his son, Kelly Khumalo, for accusing her of using muthi.
Another is Natasha Thahane who revealed that she may have unfairly benefitted when she was awarded a scholarship to study at the New York Film Academy.
KATLEGO MABOE IS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL
While the question of doing an interview with MacG has not been answered, Katlego Maboe has made an exciting announcement on his social media accounts.
“Mr Chencha Daai Ding” (as some still call him) is going to be a student again!
“Been a student of life for the last two years, now it’s time to do it again, academically! Big things loading @theNWU Business School! Cannot wait to recreate this memory – my first graduation,” he wrote in a tweet on Monday.
