Kano Deputy Gov, Gawuna, Emerges Chairman Forum of State Commissioners of Agriculture

The Deputy Governor of Kano State and the state’s Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, emerged chairman of the Forum of Commissioners for Agriculture.

According to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Musa Fagge, the development comes after Gawuna was unanimously elected by the commissioners of agriculture in the country at the inaugural meeting of Community of Practice (C.O.P) held in Abuja.

The Deputy Governor, who has been a commissioner of agriculture since 2014, has been saddled with the responsibilities of leading the forum to ensure Nigeria attains self-sufficiency in food production.

Reacting to the development, Gawuna thanked the members of the forum for reposing their confidence in him and assured of continued contribution in ensuring the implementation of policies and programmes initiated by the federal and state governments to develop agricultural activities.
