Kaizer Chiefs to miss 10 KEY players for crucial Soweto derby!

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that no less than 10 players will be unavailable for selection when they face Swallows FC in the final match of the season.

It’s all to play for in Saturday’s Soweto derby for both sides with Swallows looking to avoid relegation while the Amakhosi are desperate to qualify for the CAF Champions League.

Though both teams don’t have their fate in their own hands, a full three points is a must to give themselves any chance of their crucial goal!

The bad news for Kaizer Chiefs is that their camp has been rocked by both injuries as well as illness ahead of the grand Finale!

The Glamour Boys confirmed via their social media channels that 10 players will be missing on Saturday afternoon.

Sifiso Hlanti, Lebogang Manyama, Keagan Dolly, Samir Nurkovic and Siyabonga Ngezana have all been ruled out through injury for Kaizer Chiefs.

Kgaogelo Sekgota, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Sabelo Radebe have also been ruled out through illness while Cole Alexander is suspended for Saturday’s clash!

Amakhosi complete signing of star defender!

While there was much speculation over whether Kaizer Chiefs would sign former player Zitha Kwinika or not, the deal has since been confirmed by both the player and his coach!

Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker and Kwinika himself have confirmed that the versatile defender will make his way to Naturena at the end of the season!

Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker all but confirmed the deal at the club’s awards evening where Zitha Kwinika won the Player of The Season award.

“I’d like to wish Zitha well. He’s going back to his boyhood club, where he’s developed,” Barker said as quoted by IDiskiTimes.

“Zitha will go back to Kaizer Chiefs, he deserves everything of the best. We wish him well, but be aware, we’re coming for you next season.”

While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, according to Transfermarkt, the 28-year-old defender is valued at approximately R12 million.

Considering the fact that Kwinika’s the captain and arguably one of the most important Stellenbosch players, it’s hard to believe they’d let their star join Kaizer Chiefs for a ‘bargain’!
