Kaizer Chiefs Provide Comprehensive Update on Injured Players’ Recovery Progress in Istanbul Training Camp

Kaizer Chiefs have given an update on the status of several players who stayed back from their Turkey training camp due to injuries, shedding light on when they could return to action.

Chiefs are currently in Istanbul, gearing up for the upcoming season under the guidance of their new head coach, Nasreddine Nabi.

Nabi, who recently signed a two-year deal with an option for a third, aims to restore glory to Naturena after the team finished their ninth season without a trophy.

The experienced CAF Confederation Cup-winning coach will be supported by Khalil Ben Youssef and Fernando Da Cruz as his assistants, along with Goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi and Strength and Conditioning coach Safi Majdi.

However, the team is currently without Tebogo Potsane, George Matlou, Dillan Solomons, and Mduduzi Mdantsane. Dave Milner, the team’s long-serving physiotherapist, provided updates on their recovery:

The winger is on track in his recovery from groin surgery and should return to training in about two weeks.

After shoulder surgery, the speedy fullback has started running and rehab, with a full return expected in approximately nine weeks.

Following knee surgery, Matlou is currently undergoing light running and gym work, with a full recovery expected by October.

Mdantsane, who underwent surgery for a broken jaw from a recent car accident, is aiming to return to action in three months.

Ashley Du Preez’s Recovery Progress

Ashley Du Preez, initially left behind due to ongoing recovery, has since joined the team in Istanbul and is engaged in light training sessions.
