Kaizer Chiefs: Itumeleng Khune to assist Arthur Zwane?

Khune has achieved practically everything that a South African footballer can achieve.

He has captained Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi and competed in a FIFA World Cup, African Cup of Nations and every domestic competition. With well over a decade of experience in the PSL too.

Khune has only not won a CAF Champions League trophy but that was out of his hands. He was not selected to represent Chiefs in the final against Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.

What is in his hands however, is the chance to coach at Naturena. Khune brings heap loads of experience to the table as well as tremendous wisdom, leadership and character.

Amakhosi legend, Zebulon Nhlapo, believes Khune should be Zwane’s assistant.

“Khune has lots of experience, they must try him as Arthur’s assistant, these two know everything about Chiefs. Most of the time Khune sits in the stands, maybe because of his age, he is the only player to have played for more than 20 years, so he has experience in abundance,” said Nhlapo on KickOff.

He firmly believes Khune is the right man to guide. Nhlapo also thinks that Zwane the best choice for Chiefs.

“They must give the head coach position to Arthur permanently, he must then be given enough time. Arthur knows and understands Chiefs’ culture”, he added.
