Joe Rogan questions Trump’s ambitious UFC mega-event plan as the President promotes championship fights on the White House lawn in Washington DC next summer

President Donald Trump is dead set on turning next summer’s UFC event into the star attraction of America’s 250th birthday.

He’s talking about championship fights on the White House lawn on June 14 — a massive celebration and, in his telling, the most spectacular UFC showcase ever staged.

But one person isn’t fully buying into the hype yet: Joe Rogan.

Rogan Pokes Fun at Trump’s Big Plans

Rogan — who played a major role in last year’s election when his lengthy interview helped propel Trump’s public momentum — couldn’t resist teasing the President as he read Trump’s comments aloud on a recent podcast.

Trump had praised Dana White for “building an arena” and planning “eight or nine” championship bouts.

According to Trump, every matchup would be a title fight, every spot legendary, with White even holding back major bouts for months so the anniversary show could be stacked.

Rogan paused, imitated Trump’s voice, and basically asked his co-hosts: “Wait… what?”

The Math Isn’t Mathing, According to Rogan

Once Rogan started analyzing the idea, he couldn’t hold back.

“There are only eight weight classes,” he laughed.

“How do you get nine title fights? You’d need every division fighting for a belt on the same night — which is already insane.”

And to him, leaving out heavyweight icon Jon Jones from a White House spectacle? “A travesty,” he joked.

Security, Weather, and… Everything Else

As Rogan read that planners supposedly anticipate up to 100,000 spectators, he immediately questioned the logistics.

“What kind of security are they going to have for this?” he wondered.

He also asked his guest, UFC fighter Brendan Allen, if he’d want a slot on the card.

Allen didn’t jump at the idea — “not really,” he shrugged — prompting Rogan to burst out laughing.

Rogan pointed out that outdoor fights come with their own issues: heat, humidity, sweat turning the canvas into a skating rink — none of which is ideal when punches and kicks are flying.

Allen recalled witnessing a sweltering Louisiana fight card where the heat was so thick fighters were slipping everywhere.

Rogan agreed: Washington, D.C. in June? It’s often brutal.

Trump’s Spontaneous Calls: “He’s Like a 79-Year-Old Kid”

Rogan’s commentary came just after he told another guest — Nvidia founder Jensen Huang — about Trump’s habit of calling him out of the blue.

Huang shared a moment when he and Trump were discussing UFC plans at the White House, and Trump suddenly decided he needed to call Rogan right then and there.

Rogan laughed as he described the President as “a 79-year-old kid,” someone unpredictable and far more quirky than people might expect — even sending giant-font text messages without warning.

Technology Titan Jensen Huang Was Also Taken Aback

Huang admitted he didn’t know what to expect before meeting Trump, but he was caught off guard in a good way.

“One-on-one, he surprised me,” Huang said.

“He listens closely and remembers almost everything.”

Rogan Balances the Critique With Candid Praise

Rogan made it clear he hasn’t supported every move Trump has made, adding that people often fixate only on negative narratives.

Everyone has bad days, he noted — including presidents.

He even referenced Trump telling a reporter, “Quiet, piggy,” calling it both inappropriate and objectively funny.

He emphasized he wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end, but he admitted it was hard not to laugh.

To Rogan, Trump remains a complicated figure: a mix of contradictions, blunt humor, unpredictability, and surprising moments of charm.

What Comes Next?

Whether Trump gets his grand UFC birthday bash — giant crowd, multiple belts on the line, a venue built on the South Lawn — is anyone’s guess.

But one thing’s certain: Joe Rogan will have plenty to say about it, whether he’s calling fights, calling out the math, or just answering the phone when Trump decides he has something to share.
