Jealous Knifeman Accused of Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend’s Partner to Death in a Frenzied Attack Faces Trial at Lewes Crown Court

Fatal Stabbing Unveiled in Lewes Crown Court:

Lewes Crown Court in Chichester is witness to a harrowing trial as 23-year-old Kaydon Prior faces accusations of stabbing 25-year-old Harrison Tomkins to death.

The court heard that the frenzied attack, involving ten stab wounds with a 16cm hunting knife, allegedly stemmed from Prior’s jealousy upon discovering his ex-girlfriend, Alicia Parrin, with her new partner.

Chilling Account of the Incident:

Details emerged in court revealing that Prior burst into Alicia Parrin’s flat in Crawley on August 13, 2023, where she was spending the night with Harrison Tomkins after a work leaving do.

The prosecution claims Prior ripped the duvet off them, pinned Tomkins to the bed, and carried out the fatal stabbing.

Parrin denied the notion of a fight to the death in her bedroom but recounted the traumatic incident, asserting that Prior grabbed her hair, punched her, and threatened to stab her as well.

Denial of Jealousy Motive:

Under questioning from the defense, Kaydon Prior denied that the killing was motivated by jealousy.

He told the court about celebrating their first anniversary together just days before the incident, emphasizing the positive aspects of their relationship.

Alicia Parrin, however, testified that Prior had been violent towards her and refused to accept their breakup.

Conflicting Testimonies and Allegations:

The courtroom witnessed conflicting testimonies, with Alicia Parrin insisting on the violence in her relationship with Prior, while Prior maintained a different narrative.

The defense suggested that Parrin may have lied to Tomkins, creating an image of a violent relationship to facilitate a new one.

Parrin countered these claims, stating she was not seeking a new relationship and accusing Prior of being possessive.

Ongoing Trial at Lewes Crown Court:

The trial at Lewes Crown Court continues as both Kaydon Prior and his friend Jason Curtis, who was allegedly present during the incident, deny charges of murdering Harrison Tomkins.

Prior faces additional charges of assaulting Alicia Parrin and carrying an offensive weapon. The courtroom drama unfolds as the prosecution and defense present their cases in this tragic stabbing case.
