ONOGIDE HENRY hails from Ughelli North Local Government Area and is the CEO of Henryome Constructions Nig Enterprise, Ughelli. He is a Political Science graduate. Life situations and passion for self-employment motivated him to enroll for Welding and Fabrication in the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2015/2016 Cycle.

Six years after, he has worked hard to carve a niche for himself as a trainer/instructor, an employer and an entrepreneur. He is a specialist in the construction and maintenance of sand dredging machines. Hear him,

“STEP is a big boost for me. I network with my colleagues during elaborate projects to cater for my clients. As a metal technician, I am into argon welding, structural welding, insulation welding and iron bending fabrication.

“Jobs are coming and the patronage is high. I have a professional area of specialization, which is the construction and maintenance of dredging machine. I receive invitation to service dredging machines in Owerri, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Agip in Kwale, Patani, Yenogoa in Bayelsa State etc. The experience has been fulfilling and rewarding.

“STEP offered me the opportunity to acquire more professional knowledge on how I can manage my own business. Since establishment, I have acquired more equipment which pave way for more jobs without hitches. I have trained five persons and have three employees. I now cater for my needs and wants. I am also a land owner.”
