Following his government’s anti-crime effort, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun claimed that he had received threats from criminals.
The governor said in January that his government will create a financial crimes bureau to tackle internet fraud and illegal financial transactions in the state, notably those involving kidnapping, ransom, and advance-fee scams.
He established the state’ s joint security organization, code- named OP- MESA, and declared war on kidnappers and fraudsters known as ” Yahoo guys” who would try to operate in the state.
In the area of border security, the governor stated, his government is collaborating with federal agencies as well as its Oyo State equivalent.
The hoodlums are feeling the heat of the newly relaunched security outfit, according to Abiodun, just two weeks after the inauguration.
He spoke during the ” Ogun- Oyo Joint Security Meeting, ” a bilateral meeting convened by the governors of Ogun and Oyo states to address security issues in their respective states.
” I am waiting for them, ” the governor declared to the convicts.
” I understand that they have been working extremely hard since we launched our OP- MESA last week, ” he said. I hear that those criminals are now saying that Dapo Abiodun is making life unbearable for them and that they are going after me. Well, let me assure you that I will continue to make life unbearable for you, and I’ m waiting for you. ”
