Bafana’s Thulani Serero sends message to Pitso Mosimane ahead of Club World Cup

Bafana Bafana and Al Jazira star Thulani Serero has sent a message to Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane ahead of upcoming the FIFA Club World Cup.
The delayed 2021 edition of FIFA’s flagship club competition is set to finally get underway in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, 3 February when Serero’s Al Jazira play OFC representatives, AS Pirae from Tahiti.
Should the reigning Emirati champions win that match they will meet AFC champions Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the second round, while Al Ahly will meet Mexico’s Monterrey in the round’s other tie.
European champions Chelsea and South American representatives Palmeiras will only enter at the semi-final stage, where possible matches against Al Jazira and Al Ahly, respectively, await.
Thulani Serero and his Mzansi compatriot Pitso Mosimane could meet in the final if results go their way – although it’s also possible the two could come face-to-face earlier in the competition.
If both Al Jazira and Al Ahly lose in the second round, the two teams will meet in the fifth-place playoff, while they could also meet in the third-place playoff if both clubs reach – and lose – in the semi-finals.
Ahead of a possible meeting, Serero sent a message to Mosimane, wishing his compatriot and his Al Ahly team well at the tournament.
“Hello coach Mosimane, and welcome to Abu Dhabi. I wish you all of the best in the World Cup and hope to meet you in the final,” Serero said in a video shared on Al Jazira’s social media platforms.
Mosimane responded with: “Hello my boy,Enshalla @AlJazira_uae_EN“

He also represented Ajax Amsterdam on 120 occasions and Vitesse Arnhem 83 times, and has played 56 matches to date for current club Al Jazira.
