Nigerian Hotel and Catering Institute NHCI has awarded its outstanding members who has performed well over the years in the industry.
The award was given out at the institute’s Annual Fellowship Dinner, Corporate Member Induction and Presidential Investiture event held recently in Lagos.
The 10th President of the institute Mr. Gbenga Sunmonu was also recognised at the event also alongside the presentation of awards to the institute past leaders.
In his speech, Sunmonu applauded all the past leaders and assured them that their efforts will not be in vain as he will carry on in their good legacy in growing the institute to great standard.
He also thanked the Chairman of the event Mr. Umo Eno for his contribution to the institute.
According to Sunmonu, Mr. Umo Eno has diligently serviced the industry, created wealth for people and an epitome of highest ethical standards which is glaring in his relationship within and beyond the stakeholders.
The event witnessed the awards of appreciation and recognition of notable Nigerians tourism practitioners and stakeholders, who have immensely contributed to the growth of the Hospitality and Tourism industry across nation.
Some of the awardees were Mr. Umo Eno, Chief Mrs Olayinka Pamela Adedayo as well as, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism and Arts, Mrs Uzamot Akinbile Yusuf.
On her remarks, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism and Arts, Uzamot Akinbile Yusuf, urged all the players to play by the rules as the government is open to suggestions and readily available to assist the players in its bid to make Lagos State the Tourism capital of Africa.
