Hillary Clinton argues Republicans intend to “steal” the 2024 election

In a video asking Americans to support Democratic legislators in their states, Hillary Clinton said that “extreme” Republicans are plotting to steal the 2024 presidential election.

She claimed that the conservative majority of the U.S. Supreme Court might give state legislatures the authority to overturn results, so she urged Americans to vote in local elections rather than the 2022 midterms.

According to Clinton, “right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election” and they’re not hiding it.

The unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidate from 2016 did not offer any evidence of these schemes or instances in which Republicans had colluded to’steal’ the 2024 election.

The progressive organization Indivisible Guide, which runs a campaign to support progressive candidates in local state elections on the website Crush the Coup, posted the video on Twitter.

The group asserts that while it is “critical” for Democrats to win the midterm elections, they also need to concentrate on the more important task of “fighting MAGA Republicans at the state level.”

The homepage of the website for Crush the Coup states in large capital letters, “MAGA has a plan to steal the election in 2024.” We must stop them immediately.

Additionally, it asserts that Democrats should concentrate their efforts on winning 29 local seats in the six swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

When asked if the possibility of Republicans trying to overturn the outcome of the next presidential election keeps her up at night, Clinton scoffed and said that allowing them to take control of state legislatures poses a “threat to democracy.”

The former Secretary of State claimed that the right-wing-controlled Supreme Court might soon rule that state legislatures should have the authority to void presidential elections. Yes, you read that correctly.

The majority of Congress voted on January 6, 2021, to officially recognize President Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election, despite the objections of 147 Republicans in the House and Senate.

While 128 members of the House and seven senators objected to the outcome in Pennsylvania, six Republicans in the Senate and 121 members of the House opposed certification of the results in Arizona.

Even though Democrats have questioned – and still do – the results of some previous elections, Republicans who continue to doubt the outcome of the 2020 presidential election have been labeled “election deniers.”

Despite her assertions that Republicans who assert election fraud are advancing the Kremlin’s agenda, Clinton is now contesting results two years before an election has even been held.

In June 2021, Clinton claimed that elected officials who claimed the 2020 election had been rigged or unfairly conducted were supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s efforts to weaken American democracy.

“We never believed we needed to be concerned about home enemies. In an interview with MSNBC at the time, Clinton stated, “We never thought we had to worry about people who didn’t believe in our democracy.

And regrettably, she continued, “what we’ve seen over the last four years, especially since the election, is that we have people in our own country who are carrying out Putin’s will.” They are carrying out his will to sow discord and mistrust.

The progressive organization Indivisible Guide was founded in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, but it refers to him as a “symptom of a sick democracy, not its cause.”

Republicans, according to Clinton in her video, are working hard to ensure that neither the results of the popular vote nor the Electoral College will determine the outcome of the election. She also criticized the Electoral College, calling it obsolete.

Despite Trump winning the Electoral College vote count by 74 votes, Clinton won the 2016 prudential election by nearly 3 million votes in the popular vote.

In 2008, Clinton came in second place to eventual victor Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary. The first woman to run for president under a major party, she received the nomination in 2016. She fell short to Trump.

State legislatures, many of which are controlled by Republicans, could decide the 2024 presidential election rather than the electorate or even the antiquated Electoral College, according to Clinton.

The Crush the Coup campaign of Indivisible Guide was then promoted by her.

The organization explains that the United States has two main issues, that its democracy is “rigged” in favor of the affluent and white, and that in the past ten years, “an alliance of white nationalists and the ultra-rich” has arisen in an effort to maintain power.

They assert, “That’s how we ended up with Trump.”
