In an extraordinary end-of-year celebration, Henan Kuangshan Crane Co. Ltd. turned heads and raised eyebrows with an unprecedented cash giveaway.

The crane manufacturing and rental company laid out a staggering $26 million in banknotes across 800 banquet tables, allowing employees to take home as much as they could physically carry.

Around 7,000 employees attended the February 13 gala, where the bright, colorful lights highlighted piles of cash, leaving staff visibly thrilled.

According to the Chosun Daily, one particularly lucky employee walked away with $13,000 in cash, illustrating just how generous the company’s approach was.

A Unique Take on Employee Bonuses

The company’s founder and majority shareholder, Cui Peijun, explained the reasoning behind this unusual bonus method.

“Why are we giving out washing machines? Do you think gold prices have gone up?” he reportedly said, referencing previous years when employees received jewelry instead of cash.

“Some people ask why we don’t just transfer the money to their accounts, but that way, it’s just cold numbers,” Cui added, highlighting the personal touch he wanted to convey.

Cui owns 98.88% of the company, effectively funneling a significant portion of his own dividends back to employees.

This approach reflects a culture of generosity that has become synonymous with Henan Kuangshan Crane.

A Track Record of Employee Generosity

This cash giveaway isn’t a one-off stunt.

In 2024, the company recorded a net profit of $38 million, giving roughly $24 million of that directly to employees.

For International Women’s Day in March of last year, nearly $230,000 in bonuses went to about 2,000 female employees.

Cui has explained his motivations clearly: “It is not that I love giving out money, it is that young people are burdened with car loans and mortgages and any relief we can offer helps.”

This philosophy has helped cultivate loyalty and morale across the company, which was founded in 2002 and now operates in over 130 companies globally.

The Celebration in Full Swing

During the gala, employees were seen in suits, smiling broadly as they calculated how much cash they could carry.

Piles of banknotes were spread out like a surreal treasure trove under the lights.

The event was not only a celebration of the company’s success but also a tangible way of showing appreciation for the workforce that drives it.

What’s Next?

With Henan Kuangshan Crane Co. Ltd. continuing its history of extraordinary employee rewards, expectations are high for future events.

Industry watchers are keen to see whether this becomes a new trend in employee bonuses or remains a unique hallmark of Cui Peijun’s leadership.

The company’s consistent profits and expansion into over 130 business operations suggest that similarly generous celebrations could continue for years to come.

Summary

Henan Kuangshan Crane Co. Ltd. made headlines by giving away $26 million in cash at its annual party, letting employees carry home as much as they could.

Founder Cui Peijun emphasized the personal and practical value of the bonuses, citing relief for employees burdened with loans and mortgages.

This follows a long history of generosity, including $24 million in staff payouts in 2024 and International Women’s Day bonuses totaling $230,000.

The company, founded in 2002 and operating across 130 businesses, continues to set a high standard for employee appreciation.
