South African-born comedian and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is mourning the loss of his grandmother Frances Noah. The world-renowned entertainer – who is currently living in the United States – headed online on Thursday 12 May to share the sad news about his “gogo”.
His social media pages have been flooded with messages of condolences and well wishes from his many fans and supporters.

Noah shared a heartwarming post about his 95-year-old grandmother who took her last breath this week.
According to the star’s post, Gogo Frances was laid to rest on Thursday this week after dying peacefully in her sleep.
He also shared what he loved about her the most while praising her for her good nature:
“How can I smile for a photo when I don’t have teeth?” This morning our family laid to rest the oldest member of our clan Frances Noah, or as most of us referred to her, Gogo.
A woman who showed me the truest definition of unconditional love. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and even blessed us with one final Mother’s Day which she enjoyed to the fullest.Hamba Kahle Gogo,” reads part of his post.

Over the years, Gogo Frances has made a number of appearances on Trevor’s social media and features in a number of videos.
In fact, Trevor even welcomed her to The Daily Show studios for some very entertaining interviews.
The comedian also made a number of jokes about growing up with his Gogo at her Soweto home many years before he became as successful as he is.
