Gunmen Abduct Kwara State Lawmaker’s Wife and Children

In a distressing incident, the wife and two children of the legislator representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government in the Kwara State House of Assembly were abducted by unidentified gunmen.

This terrifying event unfolded in the early hours of Monday when the armed perpetrators stormed the lawmaker’s residence.

Terrifying Invasion by Armed Gunmen

The gunmen, reportedly armed and numbering several, forcefully entered the residence of the lawmaker around 1 a.m. on Monday.

In a bid to instill fear, they began shooting indiscriminately before abducting the victims and disappearing into the nearby forest.

Uncertain Whereabouts and Ongoing Search

As of now, the whereabouts of the abducted wife and children remain unknown. While the family has had contact with one of the abductors, this individual has not yet made a ransom demand.

It appears that they are not with the group in the forest, and negotiations for a ransom are yet to be finalized.

Security Response and Lawmaker’s Advice

The chairman of the state vigilantes, Alhaji Ibrahim Saka, confirmed the incident and stated that they have dispatched personnel to comb the forest in an effort to rescue the victims.

The security forces are actively engaged in search operations to locate and secure the kidnapped family.

The Kwara state police command’s spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, verified the occurrence of the incident.

However, at this stage, detailed information regarding the abduction is limited and further investigations are underway.
