Government Boosts NIPOST with Commissioning of Operational Mail Vehicles

The Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, on behalf of the federal government, commissioned ten Operational Mail Vehicles for the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) on May 26, 2023.

Boosting Service Delivery and Transformation

During the commissioning ceremony held in Abuja, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, the head of the Ministry, highlighted that the project aims to enhance service delivery for Nigerians and contribute to the country’s economy.

He emphasized that it signifies NIPOST’s alignment with the transformation agenda of the Buhari administration.

Pantami also mentioned that the trucks were purchased using internally generated revenue by NIPOST, rather than relying on the federal government’s allocation.

Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju, the Postmaster General of the federation and CEO of NIPOST, expressed his belief that this development would have a significant impact on Nigeria’s digital economy.

He explained that the vehicles were introduced to enable NIPOST to compete effectively in the nation’s electronic communication, e-commerce, logistics, and courier industry.

Adepoju asserted that under his leadership, NIPOST would continue to initiate innovative measures to enhance service delivery and restore public confidence in the organization’s ability to meet expectations.

Adepoju described the commissioning of the ten brand new JAC TRUCKS, each with a capacity of 3/4 tons, as a practical demonstration of the management’s commitment to meeting the needs of the contemporary customer and improving the socio-economic life of the people.
