Golden Arrows announce Lehlohonolo Seema’s replacements

Golden Arrows have announced changes to their technical team following the sacking of Lehlohonolo Seema as head coach.

In a statement released on the same day, Arrows confirmed Mabhuti Khenyeza and Vusumuzi Vilakazi as interim co-coaches until the end of the season.

Arrows further confirmed that they parted ways with Seema amicably, although media reports suggest that the former Lesotho captain was actually fired.

“Official Statement: Lamontville Golden Arrows and Lehlohonolo Seema have amicably parted ways with immediate effect. Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabuthi Khenyeza will serve as interim coaches until the end of the season,” reads the statement.

Seema’s departure comes on the back of Arrows’ 6-0 defeat at the hands of DStv Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday.

And with six league games to go, Arrows find themselves battling to cement their place in the top eight for next season’s MTN8 competition.

The Lamontville-based side is currently placed ninth on the DStv Premiership standings with 31 points from 24 league games.

Both Khenyeza and Vilakazi will be expected to steer the team to a top eight finish, which would be an achievement for them this season.
