George Matlou suspended as a result of late red card

The Amakhosi star George Matlou has been suspended after receiving a late red card.

He also was surprised to get this card. What transpired, then?

According to Amakhosi’s official twitter page, George Matlou’s suspension would prevent him from playing in Chiefs’ following two games.

This was unfortunate because Victor Gomez sent the lanky midfielder off. The red was displayed after the last whistle, which only served to further complicate matters.

Zwane and Chiefs will now need to recruit another midfielder to replace the Amakhosi player.
