Former Swallows FC coach resurfaces at AmaZulu!

Truter replaces Benni McCarthy who parted ways with Usuthu on Friday following a series of poor results and disagreements with the management.

McCarthy had a clash of ideas with Usuthu bosses, and while the management liked him as their coach, they had no option but to go separate ways.

Now, Usuthu, despite being linked with a number of coaches, including Stuart Baxter and Arthur Zwane as well as Gavin Hunt, have opted for Truter.

Truter was fired by Swallows in November 2021 after the team’s struggles under his watch as head coach.

But he has another chance to prove himself as a coach in the PSL with Usuthu, who are desperate to do well both domestically and in the CAF Champions League.

“AmaZulu FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Truter as interim head coach with immediate effect until the end of the current 2021/2022 season,” a club statement read.

“We look forward to competing in the league for the remaining seven games. The search for the head coach to lead the team beyond this season has commenced and should be finalised before the end of April.”
