During his tenure as the Governor of Ekiti State, Fayose consistently celebrated Tinubu’s birthday in prominent newspapers.

In 2022, Fayose reminded then-President Muhammadu Buhari that Tinubu played a significant role in his presidential victory when the All Progressives Congress (APC) attempted to sideline him from the presidential ticket.

Fayose clarifies that he has not personally benefited from Tinubu, either materially or through position.
