According to Fayose, Tinubu has consistently demonstrated his leadership qualities and has emerged as the new leader of the Yoruba race.
Celebrating Tinubu’s Birthday and Support
During his tenure as the Governor of Ekiti State, Fayose consistently celebrated Tinubu’s birthday in prominent newspapers.

This public display of support highlights Fayose’s acknowledgment of Tinubu’s influence and contribution to Nigerian politics.
In 2022, Fayose reminded then-President Muhammadu Buhari that Tinubu played a significant role in his presidential victory when the All Progressives Congress (APC) attempted to sideline him from the presidential ticket.
No Personal Benefits, South’s Turn for the Presidency
Fayose clarifies that he has not personally benefited from Tinubu, either materially or through position.
This statement emphasizes that his admiration for Tinubu is not motivated by personal gain.
Fayose, despite being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was the first Nigerian to publicly assert that it is the turn of the South to produce the next President.
