Former Bronco Aqib Talib’s brother sought for youth football murder in Texas

Authorities in Texas are searching for the brother of former Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib after the deadly shooting of a man at a minor football game on Saturday evening.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Lancaster, Texas, Police Department has named Yaqub Salik Talib as a suspect in the incident.

The dead has been identified as Michael Hickmon, age 43, a coach for one of the teams.

He passed away at a hospital, according to CBS Dallas.

 

 

A warrant has been issued for Yaqub Talib’s arrest.

 

Apparently, the incident occurred during an altercation. The alleged incident is seen on video as a referee trying to calm a guy as they go toward the camera. However, a battle between other persons breaks out behind the duo. Five gunshots are heard before the individual capturing the video seems to take shelter.

Aqib Talib is a five-time Pro Bowler who was selected by the Buccaneers and has also played for the Patriots and Rams in addition to the Broncos. During his time with the organization, the Broncos’ secondary earned the moniker “No Fly Zone.”

 

In 2015, his tenure with the Broncos concluded with a Super Bowl triumph.

 

In 2020, Aqib Talib retired from the NFL.

 

Attorney for Aqib Talib told TMZ, “Aqib was there when this tragic occurrence happened, and he is very distressed and heartbroken at the loss of life. He wishes to express his sympathies to the victim’s family and everyone who saw this tragic event.”

 

In Texas in 2014, Aqib Talib was momentarily mistaken for his brother. The Dallas Police Department first claimed that Aqib Talib had been detained for public drunkenness, but an hour later, the record was changed to reflect that Yaqub Talib had been arrested.
