A van rampage in Nottingham city centre has resulted in three fatalities and multiple injuries.


A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after reports of a vehicle running over pedestrians in the Midlands city.

The incident unfolded on Ilkeston Road, where two people were found dead, and continued on Milton Street, where a van allegedly attempted to run over three individuals who are currently receiving medical treatment.

Another fatality was discovered on Magdala Road, located in the suburbs near Sherwood.

Investigation and Police Response:

Chief Constable Kate Meynell has confirmed that the three incidents are believed to be linked, and a suspect is in custody.

Detectives are currently working to establish the exact sequence of events.

Several roads in the city remain closed as the investigation progresses, and the public is urged to be patient.


Witness Accounts and Arrest:

According to witnesses, armed officers apprehended the suspect, who was pulled from a damaged white van.

A student described hearing what sounded like gunshots and observing armed police running out of an undercover car.

The suspect was reportedly tasered, dragged out of the van, and subsequently arrested.

Footage captured by GB News showed the arrest and revealed a large knife being removed from the back of the van.

Multiple roads, including Ilkeston Road, Milton Street, Maples Street, and Woodborough Road, have been cordoned off by the authorities.

Nottingham City Centre Tram services have been suspended due to the “major police incidents” occurring in and around the city.
