Family Claims Husband’s Involvement in Tragic Death of Pregnant Mother
The family of Deborah Fawolere, a three-month pregnant mother of six who passed away at Gbagada General Hospital, has leveled accusations against her husband, Idowu Fawolere, alleging his involvement in her untimely demise.
Domestic Violence Allegations Surface
According to reports by Punch, the deceased woman’s sister, Toluwalase Adedoyin, accused Idowu Fawolere of physically assaulting Deborah, even during her pregnancy with their seventh child.
While the husband denied the allegations, Adedoyin asserted that her late sister had previously left Fawolere’s house due to instances of assault and violence.
Family Voices Concerns over Assault
Expressing grief over the loss, Adedoyin stated, “My younger sister died this morning. The husband had been beating her before she died today.
She used to beat her up. We believe the physical assault caused damage to her health, considering her condition.”

Adedoyin revealed that her late sister had complained about the constant physical abuse by her husband.
She stated, “Just yesterday (Monday), my late sister told one of our sisters that her husband and his elder brother used to beat her up.
She alleged that she didn’t have peace of mind in the house and that both of them were making life miserable for her.”
Husband Denies Allegations
Idowu Fawolere dismissed the claims of assaulting his wife and accused her of fabricating stories. He clarified, “It is not true.
I was the one who took her to the hospital. She wasn’t feeling well. When we took her to a private hospital, they were the ones who transferred us to the General Hospital. I didn’t beat her.”

Idowu Fawolere addressed previous disputes involving his wife and family, denying any involvement in her mistreatment.
He explained, “The only issue that took us to the police station earlier was between her and my mother. She fought my mother and my younger siblings. And this was not even when she was pregnant.”
