The Soweto derby is not just between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
For many years Swallows were right up their and now, we may be seeing the beginning of the end of the Dube birds. That’s not all, this could be the end of this storied rivalry as well as ‘the original Soweto derby’ which was played between Swallows and Pirates.
CHIEFS AND SWALLOWS FINAL SOWETO DERBY?
On Saturday, it’s a battle to the death with Amakhosi fighting for CAF Champions League football and Swallows fighting for survival.
Both side’s need to kill off their rivals hopes. This is to ensure that there season has purpose.
Both clubs fell well short of their expectations.
Chiefs failed to win any silverware while Swallows find themselves 90 minutes away from being relegated.

If this happens, we may not see this Soweto derby for many seasons. Usually, relegated side’s struggle as their sponsors pull out and players leave the club in search of franchises that are still in the PSL’s top league.
