Emirati, Cuban officials discuss strengthening bilateral relations

Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of the Emirati-Latin American and North American Parliaments Friendship Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Dr. Walter Baluja Garcia, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, at the FNC’s headquarters in Dubai.

During the meeting, which was attended by Roberto Blanco Dominguez, Ambassador of Cuba to the UAE, Dr. Al Tayer underscored the importance of overall cooperation between the two countries, including in areas of education and commerce, as well as the UAE’s keenness to build bridges of communication and strengthen their relations to achieve the aspirations of the countries and peoples of the world.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the relations between the two parliaments, in line with the growing relations between the UAE and Cuba, which have witnessed advancement across many sectors.

For his part, Dr. Garcia extended his condolences on the passing of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and congratulated the UAE on the election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as President.

He also lauded the UAE’s overall development, affirming the importance of enhancing their cooperation in the area of education.
