Celebrating New Nations Prince Harry expressed excitement about the inclusion of new nations in the Invictus Games. He specifically mentioned Colombia, Israel, and Nigeria as the new participants. While not explicitly favoring any team, he humorously alluded to Meghan’s Nigerian heritage as a potential source of increased competitiveness between them.

The Purpose of the Invictus Games Founded by Prince Harry, the Invictus Games serve as a platform to support the rehabilitation of injured and sick military personnel and veterans worldwide. Participants are given the opportunity to compete in various sporting events, akin to the Paralympics, as part of their recovery journey.

About the 2023 Invictus Games This year’s Invictus Games will run until September 16, featuring 550 former and current military personnel from 21 different countries. These individuals will compete in 10 team and individual sports, demonstrating their resilience and determination. Team UK, led by Royal Navy submarine officer Lieutenant Commander James Rogers, receives support from the Royal British Legion in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
