The majority of the sides have now played 23 matches and have just seven remaining in order to either win the title, clinch a CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup spot, finish in the top half of the log – or avoid the dreaded relegation.

Mamelodi Sundowns lead the way by nine points from Royal AM with Kaizer Chiefs a further two points adrift, but having played two fewer matches.

Orlando Pirates have slipped to fifth while AmaZulu are now 10th as they look to a future without Benni McCarthy.

At the bottom of the standings, Baroka FC, TS Galaxy and Swallows appear in most danger of dropping down to the GladAfrica Championship next season.
