An obsessed driving teacher who pursued his 17-year-old pupil was eventually incarcerated after he violated a restraining order and showed up with Stanley blades at her residence.
Graham Mansie, 53, stalked Maisie Relph, now 19, for four months last year, from July to October.
He made a TikTok account titled “For Maisie” with a red heart emoji and the bio “my favorite,” asked her out for drinks and gave her unwelcome gifts while posing as a male first-year student on WhatsApp.
The teen has developed post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of his attempt to pay dark web criminals to access her social media accounts, which cost him hundreds of pounds.
Maisie altered her attire and chopped her hair into a bob after being urged by the police to alter her appearance while on bail.
The student stated that the event has rendered her unwilling to go out alone and that she has been diagnosed with acute anorexia due to the stress of being harassed.
Between July and October of last year, Maisie Relph, now 19, was stalked throughout a four-month period, from July to October.
In May, 53-year-old Graham Mansie pled guilty to one count of stalking and was sentenced to eight weeks in jail, suspended for one year. However, he is now serving his sentence.
In May of this year, Mansie, from Beckenham in south-east London, pleaded guilty to one count of stalking and was given an eight-week suspended sentence.
The court heard that nine days later, the stalker got in his car and travelled 220 miles to York.
The court was informed that he had already violated his release conditions twice by contacting her on Instagram and WhatsApp before showing up outside her residence.
The court heard that one of Maisie’s roommates observed Mansie sitting on the grass under her window and rocking when he came from work about 11 p.m.
The terrified kids contacted security, who discovered wrist cuts. Mansie turned over Stanley blades, and investigators reportedly discovered other blades.
Today, Mansie was eventually sentenced to 20 months in prison at York Crown Court.
All sentences were to run concurrently: 16 months for violation of a restraining order, two months for possession of blades, and the activation of his two-month suspended term.
Maisie stated just prior to sentencing that she feared he would use the knives to convince her to go with him or sexually abuse her.
Maisie, a student of psychology in education from Bromley, south-east London, remarked, ‘It was dreadful – an absolute nightmare.’ I barely had nine days of independence.

I was certain he wouldn’t violate the restraining order, but I think I was mistaken.
It is not safe for me, my friends, or him for him to be out because he has demonstrated he needs to be in custody.
My roommates stated I was a completely different person during those nine days since I was so relaxed and happy.
I thought I had my life back, then everything went wrong again.
This entire circumstance has made me extremely wary. I can no longer go out on my own.
In July 2020, Maisie signed up for ten classes with Mansie from Beckenham, south-east London, but ended up taking 32.
Mansie appeared outside the teen’s York apartment on May 27, the court heard Wednesday.
Mansie, who was 33 years older than the sixth-former, taught around fifteen of her friends who all passed their exams and recommended him.
She claims that he soon began calling her his “favorite,” brought her out for drinks, and spent the most of their two-hour classes discussing his desire to be in a relationship.
She added that one of her classmates said that he repeatedly mentioned a student with whom he desired a romantic relationship.
On May 18, Bromley magistrates court deferred Mansie’s eight-week sentence for one year and ordered him to complete 30 rehabilitation days and visit the Stalking Threat Assessment Centre for assistance.
By contacting her on Instagram and WhatsApp, he had already violated his release restrictions twice, the court was informed.
Then, on May 27, he showed up outside her York apartment, the court heard on Wednesday.
In her victim impact statement, Masie stated, “This crime has affected me emotionally and psychologically.”
The student stated that the stress of being stalked led to a diagnosis of severe anorexia, for which she was receiving treatment.
She remarked, “Every day I reflect on what has transpired, continuously frightened and paranoid about what might occur.”
After the preceding occurrences, I believed that things could not get much worse. When Mr. Mansie violates a court order just nine days after being sentenced, I ask whether this will ever end.’
She described him as “obsessed” and his driving from south London left her “stunned.”
The psychology student told the court, “I am now 19 years old, fighting a terrible mental condition and forced to live with a 53-year-old stalker while pursuing a degree.”
Maisie disclosed that she has pondered relocating to Australia but does not wish to alter her lifestyle.
The court heard that Maisie was unable to answer any questions during his interview with the police, but instead provided a prepared statement in which he stated he wished to commit himself after social media accounts of the original case went viral.
She stated, “As soon as I saw him sitting there rocking back and forth and sobbing, I knew it was him. He must be quite sick.
His image is etched into my mind. I’m not able to forget tragically.
I could recognize him anywhere by his Arsenal football jersey and hair.
“I have contemplated changing my name and even moving to Australia.
I enjoy my life and do not wish to alter it, and I cannot allow everything to revolve around him.
I also believe that he will discover me if he desires to do so.
I suffer post-traumatic stress as a result of this.
Even though he’s been in custody since May, I panic whenever I see a red Ford Fiesta or someone wearing a football jersey.
‘It is difficult to convey how dreadful it is to be concerned about when this will end.
He is 53 years old, thus this could theoretically continue for at least 20 more years.
