Drew Barrymore, the well-known Hollywood actress, was escorted off stage during an event in New York City.
The incident occurred when a fan in the audience called out to her and appeared to approach her on stage.
The 48-year-old actress was at the 92nd Street Y venue in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she was conducting an interview with Renee Rapp on a Monday.
In a social media video capturing the incident, Barrymore was seen engaged in a conversation with Renee Rapp, an actress and musician known for her role in “The Sex Lives of College Girls.”
Suddenly, a person in the crowd called out Barrymore’s name, prompting her and Rapp to stand up from their chairs.
Security quickly intervened and led the individuals away from the audience.
Despite the interruption, the cultural and community center seemed to proceed with the event.
Some lucky fans were granted backstage access, and Renee Rapp even performed after the incident, marking the release of her debut LP titled “Snow Angel.”
The event was originally meant to be a conversation with the 23-year-old Rapp, focusing on her experience creating the record and sharing stories from the studio.
In more recent times, Drew Barrymore, known for her roles in movies like “Never Been Kissed,” has ventured into hosting her own chat show, which bears her name.
Additionally, she starred in the Netflix zombie comedy series “Santa Clarita Diet.”
Efforts have been made to reach out to the venue, the police, and the actress’s representatives for comments on the incident.
