Just hours before State of Origin, Dominic Perrottet has hilariously recreated a portrait of his predecessor Gladys Berejiklian.

The NSW premier displayed his Blues allegiance by posing with his back to the camera, wearing a team scarf and beanie and holding a can of Coke Zero.

Ms Berejiklian, the state’s ousted leader, was widely criticised last year for uploading the’memeable’ photo with the caption: ‘Getting ready for Game 1.’ ‘Way to go, NSW Blues!’

Mr. Perrottet’s version places him in the same legislative office as the original, with the same caption and Coke Zero can, as well as extremely comparable clothing, placement, and shot composition.

As 80,000 supporters ready to gather on Sydney’s Olympic Park for Wednesday’s match against Queensland, his remark generated a riotous response online.

The sold-out crowd will be the greatest in Sydney since the Covid pandemic broke out.

In reaction to Mr Perrottet’s trolling, one individual remarked, ‘That is actually very very funny.’

It was dubbed ‘high level banter’ and ‘total gold’ by others.

‘Credit where credit is due: this is hilarious for a Tory,’ wrote a third.

Ms Berejiklian, who was forced to resign last year amid corruption allegations, became the brunt of jokes after posting a game-ready photo with her favorite beverage hours before kickoff.

‘I’m getting ready for Game 1 by standing and watching the television four hours before kickoff,’ one Twitter user wrote at the time.
‘That coke is going to get heated because the game isn’t till tonight,’ observed another.

Getting your winter coat on to stand in front of the television five hours before the game starts screams “I’m one of the usual crowd.” Another football fan remarked, ‘With a can of coke.’

‘Gladys, it’s not for another several hours. You might want to have a seat, wouldn’t want to be standing around for three hours,’ said another.

The strange snapshot sparked a flurry of memes depicting her standing ready in various chaotic situations.

The NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons will face battle at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Wednesday night at 8.10 p.m.
