The 33-year-old woman had falsely reported a house robbery, leading to her subsequent legal action.

The domestic worker, employed on Amand Road in Mariannhill Park, had opened a case claiming a house robbery had occurred.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, the woman alleged that she heard a noise inside the house while hanging clothes on the washing line.

She further claimed to have witnessed a man carrying a TV set and another suspect breaking the driveway gate.

The alleged robbers were said to have stolen jewelry and the domestic worker’s cellphone before escaping in a silver vehicle.
