The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mustapha Habib Ahmed, has assured of his commitment to continuous staff capacity development and provision of necessary equipment in all zonal offices of the Agency towards efficient response to disasters.
Mr. Ahmed, gave the assurance during a working visit to the territorial office of NEMA, in Kano North West Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Head, Press Unit, Mr. Manzo Ezekiel, the DG NEMA identified some of the equipment to be deployed based on needs at the zonal offices for emergency response to include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), multi casualty bags, collapsed building rescue equipment and rescue ropes with accessories, among other items.

He, therefore, urged the staff to reciprocate the management’s gesture by becoming more dedicated to the discharge of NEMA mandates, especially at the grassroots.
The Coordinator of NEMA Kano Territorial Office, Dr. Nuradeen Abdullahi, appreciated the Director-General of NEMA for being the first Chief Executive of the agency to visit the office since it was created in 2016.
He also thanked the DG NEMA for his commitment to the repositioning of the Agency through provision of necessary tools and human resources development and assured that the staff would reciprocate by supporting his vision.
