Dermot had temporarily taken on the role alongside Alison Hammond after Phillip Schofield’s departure from the show.

Phillip decided to step down from his position on the daytime program after being associated with a rumored conflict with Holly Willoughby.

Meanwhile, Holly has taken an early break and is expected to return on Monday, June 5.

Alison and Dermot, as replacements, began Monday’s show on May 22 by paying tribute to Phillip’s two decades of contribution to This Morning.

Alison expressed, “We can’t start today’s show without paying tribute to the man who spent the last two decades sitting on the This Morning sofa, Phillip Schofield.”

Dermot also acknowledged Phillip’s impact, stating, “As a show, everyone on and off the screen at ITV and This Morning wants to say a huge thank you to Phil for what he’s done to make the show such a success over the last 21 years.”

Alison concluded by emphasizing his talent as a live television broadcaster and wishing him the best for the future.

However, there will be another change in the hosting lineup.

On Wednesday, May 24, viewers tuning into This Morning will be greeted by Alison Hammond and Craig Doyle.

Craig, who is known for his role as the lead anchor for BT Sport’s rugby coverage, including Premiership and European Champions Cup games, has previously co-hosted This Morning with Josie Gibson.

Meanwhile, Dermot will be absent from the show for a special reason.

ITV has confirmed that he will not be part of the program on Wednesday and Thursday of that week as he celebrates his 50th birthday.

In Dermot’s place, Craig will be stepping in.

Craig shared the news on Instagram, posting a throwback picture of himself and Alison on the famous blue sofa, expressing his excitement to be reunited and announcing, “See you on the sofa at 10 am on Wednesday.”
