Delegates at Milwaukee’s Republican National Convention Show Solidarity with Trump by Wearing Ear Bandages

Delegates at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, have found an unusual way to express their support for former president Donald Trump.

Following an incident where Trump, 78, appeared with a bandage over his ear after being shot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, delegates began wearing homemade bandages on their own ears. This gesture became a symbol of solidarity and a statement against political violence

Texas delegate Jackson Carpenter shared that he decided to wear the bandage after hearing that they were being distributed at the convention.

For him, the bandage served as a powerful symbol, emphasizing the unacceptability of political violence in America.

Another delegate, Zachary Landsdowne from Washington state, initially crafted his bandage from Band-Aids at home but found that using white paper made the symbol more noticeable. He humorously noted that he even saw someone with a napkin pressed against their head, not quite fitting the bandage look.

The convention was a vibrant spectacle of patriotic attire. Many attendees, from delegates to regular conference-goers, embraced the event’s festive atmosphere with outfits featuring sequins, glitter, stars, stripes, and the iconic red, white, and blue color scheme.

Some state delegations coordinated matching themed outfits, while others showcased a variety of America-inspired attire.

Even those not dressed head-to-toe in patriotic colors found ways to participate with accessories and inspired looks.

Personal Touches and Patriotic Pride

Among the attendees, Sylvia Spivey and her husband Randy stood out in their Texas-inspired gear.

Sylvia sported a cowboys-themed shirt, while Randy wore a Houston Astros shirt.

They swapped their cowboy boots for more comfortable footwear but still accessorized with an elephant bag, Trump earrings, and a special belt buckle designed for the convention. Sylvia expressed her excitement at seeing Trump, highlighting that securing the border was the most crucial issue for them.

Celebrating with Style

Albert Herrera and his son Yosef, who leads the National High School Republican Federation, also showcased their Texan pride with cowboy hats adorned with yellow rose pins and lone star shirts.

Their service dog, Tzeitel, joined in the fun, wearing a red cowboy hat and a Texas state flag on her harness.

Meanwhile, Sara Brady from Idaho made a statement with her formal attire, donning a Trump-themed dress on Monday and a yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” gown on Tuesday.

She revealed plans to wear an “Appeal to Heaven” dress on Wednesday and to bring back the Trump dress for Thursday night when the former president was scheduled to speak.

This vibrant display of support and patriotism underscored the delegates’ enthusiasm and dedication as the convention drew to a close, with the majority rallying behind Trump as the next official Republican candidate for the 2024 election.
