Death of an inmate from Collins Bay Institution

On April 2, 2022, Quinn Borde, an inmate from Collins Bay Institution, died while in our custody.

At the time of death, the inmate had been serving a sentence of 23 years for offences relating to attempted murder, firearms, robbery, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, and failure to comply since May 9, 2008.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
