Former Formula One driver David Coulthard has celebrated his marriage to Swedish model Sigrid Silversand with an extravagant wedding celebration at his sprawling Scottish estate, welcoming a host of famous faces from the worlds of motorsport, music and television.
The lavish event took place at Barwhinnock House, Coulthard’s 85-acre property near Twynholm in Kircudbrightshire, where guests arrived in style for what became one of the most glamorous social gatherings of the summer.
Formula One Icons and Celebrities Gather for the Celebration
Among the high-profile guests were Geri Horner and her husband Christian Horner, who were seen outside the luxury Murray Arms Hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet before making their way to the ceremony.
The guest list also featured several well-known names from Formula One, including Mika Häkkinen, Martin Brundle and Jean Alesi, while musician Professor Green was also spotted attending the celebrations.
Luxury limousines and helicopters transported guests to the venue, adding to the exclusive atmosphere surrounding the occasion.
Helicopter Journey Shared on Social Media
Television presenter Lee McKenzie, a familiar face in Formula One broadcasting and a longtime colleague of Coulthard, gave followers a glimpse into the festivities by posting footage from a helicopter flying above Scotland’s coastline.
Travelling alongside McKenzie were legendary Scottish racing icon Sir Jackie Stewart, now 87, and former Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber.
The trio appeared to be in celebratory spirits, with Stewart and Webber posing alongside champagne during the flight.
McKenzie also revealed that the celebrations extended over multiple days, posting photographs of two different formal outfits online with the captions “wedding day one” and “wedding day two.”
Amanda Holden Rumoured Among Expected Guests
Although not officially confirmed, television personality Amanda Holden and her husband Chris Hughes were widely expected to attend the wedding festivities due to their close friendship with Coulthard.
The former Formula One star shares a longstanding relationship with the couple and serves as godfather to their teenage daughter, Lexi.
As evening approached, guests anticipated a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the day’s celebrations.
Romance That Led to Marriage
Coulthard and Silversand are believed to have started dating around 2021 following the end of his marriage to Belgian Formula One journalist Karen Minier. Coulthard and Minier share a 17-year-old son, Dayton.
The couple became engaged during a holiday in Mauritius last year before reportedly completing a civil marriage ceremony in Monaco, where Coulthard has lived for several years.
Silversand later revealed that the proposal had completely caught her by surprise.
She explained that Coulthard secretly sought permission from her parents before proposing, describing him as “a proper gentleman” and praising the thoughtful way he planned the engagement.
Stag Party Made Headlines Before the Wedding
The celebrations followed a memorable stag weekend in Puerto Banús, Spain, where Coulthard reportedly enjoyed a marathon 13-hour party with close friends.
Photographs showed the former Grand Prix winner being supported by friends as he left a bar in the early hours of the morning after an evening of celebrations.
The group, which reportedly included Martin Brundle and Chris Hughes, stayed at Marbella’s Hard Rock Hotel and spent part of the weekend at the Ocean Club, where they are said to have hired a private waiter and poolside bed costing more than £1,000.
After later moving to La Sala bar, Brundle reportedly departed shortly after midnight, while Coulthard remained until around 1 a.m. before friends helped him back to the hotel.
According to reports, Hughes joked with hotel security that he would “put him to bed,” while those present said the former Formula One driver appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed his final celebrations before marriage.
A New Chapter After Formula One
Coulthard, now 55, enjoyed a successful Formula One career with Williams, McLaren and Red Bull before retiring from racing and becoming one of the sport’s best-known television pundits.
His marriage to 32-year-old Silversand marks the beginning of a new chapter, celebrated with an elegant Scottish gathering that brought together some of the biggest names associated with Formula One and their closest friends.
