In order to speed up industrial connections, the Defense and Security Accelerator (DASA) will organise a cooperation event in October.

Meet the leading authorities in this area.

A partnership event will be held by the Defense and Security Accelerator (DASA) before to the launch of Novel Amphibious Craft, a new themed competition.

This competition, which begins in October 2022, will provide funding for innovative technologies to support the creation of a Commando Insertion Craft (CIC) prepared to face the perils of the twenty-first century.

It is very difficult to design a platform that can move people and light vehicles long distances under hazardous situations without being detected by coastal sensors.

Collaboration between professionals from other fields, including those outside the defence industry, is required.

By bringing together potential innovators from many industries, this event seeks to accelerate relationships. Additionally, there will be a chance to speak with subject matter specialists from the competition team.

Exactly why should you go?

You may get an understanding of what front-line workers need by attending the cooperation event, build new collaborative partnerships with innovators who have complementary expertise, and meet DASA and Royal Marines Commando Force specialists.

Who ought to go?

This competition has very difficult technical criteria, thus we anticipate that some of the submissions will be team projects involving different providers.

This event is intended for innovators who want to network and/or form partnerships before submitting a proposal to the competition.

Register

Use this Eventbrite page to indicate your interest in attending. The deadline for registration is Friday, September 23, 2022, at noon.

Background

The Royal Marine Commando forces and their equipment will be transported covertly from specialised ships to foreign and hostile coastline access points using the CIC, a medium lift boat.

Teams of Royal Marine Commandos will be required to function both individually and as a unit, and they will supplement the force’s command and control systems and sensor network.

The vessel must be capable of reaching sea states 2 at speeds no less than 25 knots across distances of 300 nautical miles (threshold).

A unique landing craft that can: move at sustained high speed over a long distance is what the Novel Amphibious Craft competition is looking for.

Offer a means of delivering people and small vehicles to a point of access along the shore with little to no influence on operations speed or capabilities.

Consider Signature Management across all spectrums while relaunching from the coastal access point to lower the likelihood of detection (for example thermal, radar, visual, acoustic)
The competition is scheduled to begin in late October 2022, and applications that are approved by the evaluation and moderation committees of DASA will receive financing.

Information of importance

Please be aware that the event will be open to the public and held at OFFICIAL; attendees should consider the appropriateness of discussions while we encourage collaboration, we want to emphasise that it is solely each attendee’s responsibility to consider and manage appropriately any disclosure of their proprietary information to any other attendee or party.

Given the public nature of the event, there will be a limited hybrid component to this event via Microsoft Teams.

At admittance, a picture ID will be needed.

Once your attendance has been confirmed, further information on the event will be delivered.
