Friday, February 4, 2022 – Energy Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Monica Juma‘s husband, Prof. Peter Kagwanja, has dumped former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Movement and announced that he is vying for Murang’a County senatorial seat in August.
Speaking on Friday, Kagwanja said after listening to the ground and soul searching, he has decided to dump Raila Odinga and join Democratic Party under the leadership of Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi.
“It is now official: I am in the race for Senate. We now roll up our sleeves and get down to work!” he tweeted on Friday.
Kagwanja, who has been campaigning for Raila Odinga’s presidential bid and Attending Azimio La Umoja campaigns, said he will no longer be advancing the former Premier’s interests but those of DP and Justin Muturi.
