Court Sends Mohbad’s Friend and Nurse Back to Police Custody in Controversial Death Case

As the investigation into the controversial death of Nigerian artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, continues, a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba has decided to return two key suspects to police custody.

Key Suspects Remain in Custody

On Monday, November 6, 2023, a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba ruled that two individuals connected to the case, 37-year-old auxiliary nurse Fisayo Ogedengbe and Ayobani Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad, must remain in police custody.

The court expressed concerns that their release could potentially interfere with the ongoing investigation.

The Controversial Death of Mohbad

The late artist, Mohbad, is alleged to have died as a result of injections administered by the auxiliary nurse. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised significant questions and led to a thorough investigation.

Bail Granted to Naira Marley and Sam Larry

In a separate decision, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun granted bail to Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry.

Both individuals had been accused in connection with Mohbad’s death and were taken into police custody on October 6. The magistrate approved a bail amount of N20 million for each of them.

Ongoing Investigation and Future Proceedings

Magistrate Olatunbosun set the next court date for November 29, allowing time for consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The police have asserted that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death is still ongoing, contributing to the decision to keep key suspects in custody.
