Controversial blogger and self-proclaimed gossip expert, Musa Khawula, is once again in the spotlight.

This time, the attention surrounds his recent court appearance, which has added another chapter to his already dramatic legal saga.

Request for a Zulu Interpreter in Court

In a twist during his ongoing murder case, Musa Khawula requested a Zulu interpreter during his recent hearing at the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court.

His demand led to the postponement of the proceedings, with the case now rescheduled for Tuesday, 1 October 2024.

The court session on that day will focus on judicial confirmation and securing the requested interpreter.

This isn’t the first time the case has faced delays. Khawula was previously arrested on 9 July during a court appearance, and it’s been revealed that he’s currently serving a sentence related to a missed court date in Gauteng.

The details of that particular case remain unclear, but his current sentence is confirmed to end on 6 September 2024, according to Eric Ntabazalila, the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Western Cape.

Public Opinion on Khawula’s Court Request

Many are questioning why Khawula didn’t request a Zulu interpreter during his first court appearance.

The delay has fueled discussions, with some speculating about the motivations behind his timing and whether it’s a deliberate tactic to buy more time.

Viral Rumors and a Death Hoax

Khawula’s name also trended recently when a death hoax circulated on X (formerly Twitter).

A post by a popular user claimed that the blogger had passed away, sparking widespread reactions online.

The post reflected on Khawula’s controversial life, stating that his drama-filled journey kept many talking, albeit for the wrong reasons.

However, these rumors were quickly dispelled when Correctional Services Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed that Musa Khawula was very much alive and still serving his 60-day sentence in a correctional facility.

The Mystery Behind His Arrest

The exact reason for Khawula’s arrest remains a mystery, though rumors suggest it may be related to his previous legal battles with Fikile Mbalula’s wife.

Earlier this year, Khawula made headlines after accusing Nozuko Mbalula and Michelle Perrow of bribing their way to secure government tenders worth R150 million.

In response, Fikile Mbalula shared court documents in May, revealing that Khawula was ordered to pay damages and delete the defamatory posts from his X account, which boasts over 125,000 followers.

What Lies Ahead for Musa Khawula?

With his current sentence nearing completion and another court date looming, it remains to be seen how Musa Khawula’s legal battles will unfold.

As always, the public and media will be watching closely to see what’s next for the controversial blogger.
