Chelsea’s new £18million signing Pep Chavarria may have secured the next major step in his football career, but his girlfriend Pawgli is facing a difficult personal choice over what his move to London means for her future.

The Spanish influencer, who has been in a relationship with the 28-year-old defender since November last year, has openly discussed her uncertainty about leaving Madrid.

In emotional videos shared with her large online following, she admitted that the prospect of relocating to England has left her feeling overwhelmed and, at one point, in tears.

Pawgli has built a substantial career in Spain, with more than 1.1 million followers on TikTok.

Her content focuses largely on fashion, beauty and lifestyle, while her professional opportunities and network are firmly established in Madrid.

A successful career she is reluctant to leave behind

The influencer explained that moving to London could force her to sacrifice some of the career she has spent years developing.

She stressed that she has always maintained her own financial independence and does not want her relationship to determine whether she can continue working.

“By moving to London, I’m kind of giving up on doing 100 per cent of my job,” she explained, adding that both she and Chavarria have their own careers and incomes.

For Pawgli, the issue is not simply finding work in another country.

Her biggest concern is losing access to the Spanish-speaking audience and opportunities that have helped her establish herself as an influencer.

She also acknowledged that she currently does not speak English, although she knows learning the language would become necessary if she decided to make London her new home.

Madrid remains at the centre of her professional life

Pawgli described Madrid as a place where she has created a life she feels extremely fortunate to have.

Her work, brand partnerships, events, friends and family are all based in the Spanish capital.

Her sister and wider family are also nearby, making the possibility of leaving considerably more complicated than simply moving to another city.

“I have my life in Madrid; I have my job in Madrid, which luckily is going very, very well,” she said.

She added that her current lifestyle was something she had worked hard to build and described it as a “dream life”.

That has left her wrestling with whether she can walk away from everything she has established in Spain to support Chavarria in the next chapter of his career.

A long-distance relationship had seemed like the answer

Before Chavarria’s transfer, Pawgli said she had been convinced that the pair would maintain their relationship while living in different countries.

She explained that the footballer’s new life in London and her existing life in Madrid could continue separately, with the couple travelling to see one another whenever possible.

A long-distance relationship was not something she had previously imagined for herself, but she considered it a realistic alternative to abandoning her career and family life in Spain.

Her position was also influenced by her determination to remain financially independent.

“I will never in my life depend on anyone or live off anyone,” she said, making clear that she intends to maintain her own income regardless of where the relationship takes her.

The emotional side of the decision is proving harder

Despite initially leaning towards remaining in Madrid, Pawgli admitted that the decision has become increasingly difficult.

She described the possibility of moving to an unfamiliar country where she has no established career, social circle or family nearby as “scary” and said she is currently “panicking” over the choice.

At the same time, she does not want to look back and feel that she missed the opportunity to experience Chavarria’s new life with him.

The influencer has also begun considering whether London could eventually provide new opportunities for her content rather than simply taking existing ones away.

She acknowledged that living in the British capital could expose her to experiences and content opportunities that she would not find in Spain.

“I have a thousand ideas in my head because I can’t stop thinking, honestly,” she admitted.

Pawgli says love is influencing her decision

While she has been candid about the sacrifices involved, Pawgli has repeatedly emphasised how happy she is for Chavarria.

She said she is extremely proud of her partner and wants to build a future and family with him, making the decision about London even more emotionally complicated.

The 27-year-old also suggested that the timing of Chavarria’s transfer could have some significance for their relationship.

She pointed out that he had spent several years in Madrid before their relationship began and only received his move to London after they had met.

For her, that has raised the possibility that perhaps she is also supposed to embrace the change.

She joined Chavarria for his Chelsea unveiling

Pawgli has already shown her support for Chavarria by joining him during his Chelsea unveiling following his £18million transfer.

The defender has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club after spending the previous four seasons with Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano.

Chavarria’s route to the top has been unconventional.

He did not make his LaLiga debut until he was 24, but has since established himself sufficiently to earn a move to one of England’s biggest clubs.

Chavarria calls Chelsea move a dream

Speaking after completing his transfer, Chavarria described joining Chelsea as a major moment in his career.

“This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said.

The defender acknowledged the size of the opportunity and promised to work hard to help the club achieve its ambitions.

He also paid tribute to the people who helped him reach the Premier League, particularly his family, whose support he said had been crucial throughout his career.

Chavarria also singled out Xabi Alonso, describing the coach as one of the best in the game and saying he was grateful for the role Alonso played in helping him reach this stage.

Pawgli’s future in London remains undecided

For now, Chavarria’s future is settled in London, but Pawgli’s next move remains uncertain.

She has made clear that her dilemma is not about a lack of commitment to her relationship.

Instead, she is trying to balance her ambitions, financial independence, family ties and established career with her desire to build a future alongside the footballer.

Whether she ultimately makes Madrid her permanent base while maintaining a long-distance relationship or takes the leap and joins Chavarria in London remains a deeply personal decision.
