Changpeng Zhao, the founder and CEO of Binance visits Ivory Coast and Senegal to connect with Binancians

The founder and CEO of Binance, the largest cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure provider in the world, Changpeng Zhao, recently traveled to Senegal and Ivory Coast as part of his tour to meet with Binancians there and work with regulators.

Meetings with Alassane Dramane Ouattara, the president of the Ivory Coast, and Macky Sall, the president of Senegal, among others, took place during CZ’s visit to the area.

Changpeng, better known by his initials “CZ,” emphasized the company’s commitment to working with African officials and the significance of blockchain to the banking sector.

According to CZ, “Africa is poised for cryptocurrency adoption as blockchain offers financial accessibility that many Africans do not now have.”

CZ highlighted Binance’s collaboration with Jokkolabs, one of Africa’s first social impact hubs, during his visit.

Through this collaboration, Binance will introduce a blockchain awareness and education initiative across Francophone African populations.

Together, he said, “we will strengthen the region’s reputation as a centre of blockchain innovation and entrepreneurship.

“As part of the cooperation, money will be donated for community education seminars designed to raise awareness of and proficiency in blockchain technology.

Binance wants to strengthen the fintech community in Francophone Africa by giving enthusiasts the tools they need to create blockchain applications and address pressing issues.

CZ’s trip takes place one week after Binance’s cooperation with Senegalese Khaby Lame, the most popular TikTok creator, was made public.

Additionally, it follows Binance’s sponsorship of AFCON, the biggest international football tournament in Africa, which demonstrated Binance’s dedication to promoting blockchain usage in the area.
